I’m fascinated by the possibilities of bringing interactive sensor technology into live performance and dance – here some of the projects I’ve been involved in!
SonicWear
For several years I worked with the amazing Loretti Faveri supporting her SOMO by SonicWear project – An innovative wearable sensor system for turning human motion and dance into music in realtime.
I incorporated the SonicWear technology into my own electronic music performances, collaborating with Candice Irwin and many others to bring an extra interactive dimension to our live shows.
LEAP Motion
Another cool piece of interactive tech that can be adapted for live performance is the Leap Motion controller – I’ve experimented with programming them for MIDI control for public installation pieces as well as live performance.
