Retrocomputing

I’m deeply nostalgic for the era of the early home computers of the 1980s. They were fun, accessible, hackable, and were my gateway to my career in engineering and all kinds of fun and learning.

Fortunately, many other people feel the same way, and there is a large, vibrant retrocomputing community around the world, including the local Toronto PET Users’ Group.

One of the more interesting developments in this space is leveraging Internet of Things technology to connect these old machines to the Internet, which has opened up all kinds of interesting possibilities for networked amusement.

I helped pioneer various means to connect old-skool dial Bulletin Board Systems to the Internet. You can learn more through the BBS Documentary (I have a brief appearance in the final segment)
